On this day in 1929 Boscombe force an FA Cup 5th round replay against West Ham United
Bournemouth's magnificent 1928-29 FA Cup run continues with their first ever game against West Ham United. Having beaten Poole Town, Guildford, Accrington Stanley and Watford so far, the Hammers came to Dean Court a week after smashing Leeds United 8-2 in the first division. Third division Bournemouth performed heroically to earn a replay in front of over 11.000 fans. West Ham would win the return match 3-1 a few days later but Boscombe had made the town proud.
