On this day in 2007 Darren Anderton scores the only hat-trick of his career
The Cherries routed Leyton Orient with a 5-0 win. Goals from Marc Wilson and James Hayter bookending the only hat-trick of Anderton's illustrious career. The first a right-footed shot from the edge of the box following a sublime turn. The second came at the beginning of the second half - a left-footed shot across goal from inside the box after Hayter bamboozled the Orient defence causing a desperate tackle which provided the ball to Anderton. The hat-trick was completed when he tapped in a Steve Fletcher header at the back post.
