Biography
Born in the village of Pittington, Co Durham on 16th May 1913, wing half Jack Percival played football as a youth for Durham City before joining Manchester City in 1933. In his 13 years at Maine Road, he made 168 League appearances, scoring 8 times and helping City to win the First Division title in 1936-37 (for the first time in their history) and the Second Division title in 1946-47. Between 1947 and 1949, he was with Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic, playing 52 times for The Cherries, netting just once. He ended his footballing career in the 1950's, back in his native North-East, as coach with Murton Colliery Welfare FC. He died in 1979, aged 66.
